Investing.com — Elon Tesla said Tuesday that he will lift Twitter’s ban against Donald Trump, if the take-private deal goes well. He called the decision of social media giant Twitter to ban Trump “a mistake”, as it had alienated large parts of the country.
In recent trading, Twitter (NYSE 🙂 fell 1%
“I would reverse the permanent ban,” Musk said in a Financial Times autos virtual conference, according to The Wall Street Journal. “I don’t own Twitter yet. So this is not like a thing that will definitely happen, because what if I don’t own Twitter?”
Musk said that Trump’s ban was a “mistake” because it “alienated large parts of the country and didn’t ultimately lead to Donald Trump having no voice.”
Trump said that he would not return to Twitter to continue his progress with Truth Social, his social-media firm.
Last month, Elon Musk reached a $44billion agreement to purchase Twitter.
