(Reuters) – Rivian Automotive Inc has reaffirmed Wednesday its annual production projection of 25,000 units. The electric-vehicle manufacturer continues to struggle with supply chain disruptions as well as high material costs.

In extended trading, Irvine’s California-based company saw its shares increase by about 12%

Rivian had reduced its 2022 forecast by half in March, after it failed to obtain the necessary chips to manufacture its R1T pickup truck (R1S SUV), and its electric delivery vehicle for Amazon.com Inc.

The company delivered 1,227 vehicles during the quarter. This is an increase of 909 units from the quarter before.

Rivian received more than 90,000. Pre-orders have been placed for the R1S SUV, and R1T pickup trucks.

According to data from Refinitiv, $95 million was the revenue of the first quarter, lower than analysts’ expectations of $130.5 millions.

From $414 million in a year prior, the net loss increased to $1.59 Billion.
