LONDON (Reuters] – British consumers’ spending on debit cards and credit has rebounded after dipping over Easter. Meanwhile, reservations for restaurant seats have also increased, according to the Office for National Statistics.

According to the ONS, card spending increased by 110% compared to its February 2020 average in week ended May 5, an increase of 8 percentage points over previous week.

These card spending figures have not been adjusted for inflation and are therefore neither seasonal nor annual.
