WEISSENHAUS (Germany) – Friday’s meeting in Germany will see foreign ministers representing the G7 grouping of wealthy nations discuss ways to reduce food security fears. This is as concerns mount about the possibility that wars between Russia and Ukraine might further undermine Moldova.

This annual meeting, which runs until Saturday, brings together high-ranking diplomats from Britain and Canada as well as France, Germany, Italy France, Japan, the United States, the European Union, and Weissenhaus, a Baltic Sea resort.

The focus of talks is on Ukraine, and the management of the conflict’s consequences.

On Friday, both the Ukrainian and Moldovan foreign ministries will be in attendance. This is a chance for some of the most productive nations in the West to reiterate their support.

Prices for grain, fuel, fertilizer, oil and cooking oils have shot up around the world due to war in Ukraine.

Since February, the Russian invasion has caused disruptions in shipping through the Black Sea. This is a key route for grain and other commodities and is throttling both Russian and Ukrainian exports.

Reporters were told by Annalena Bärbock, German Foreign Minister: “The Ukrainian port Odesa holds approximately 25 million tonnes”

“That is why we are sending a clear signal to you today: We see you, that’s what we hear and that’s how we support you,” she stated.

Sources close to diplomacy said that the objective was for seven countries to organize better in order to quickly and efficiently address the current food crisis.

The U.S. Secretary Of State Antony Blinken won’t be able to make it because he caught COVID-19. However, other ministers will try to comfort Ukraine’s neighbor Moldova.

While it is trying to deal with refugees from the neighbouring country, incidents involving proRussian separatists have raised concern that Russia’s war in Ukraine might spread across the frontier.

Reporters were told by a French diplomat that the country was weakened because of war.

Retno Marsudi is the Indonesian foreign minister and currently holds the presidency of Group of 20 Industrialised and Emerging Economies. He will join the meeting to talk about food security.

French officials stated that Russia would not be absent at the November heads-of-state meeting.
