(Reuters). Multiple shots were fired at a Laguna Woods, California church. Authorities added that one suspect was being held in the investigation.

“Deputies responding to reports that a shooting occurred at the Laguna Woods church located on El Toro Road, Laguna Woods. Multiple people were shot. “We have taken one suspect into custody and recovered a gun that could be linked to him,” said the Orange County Sheriff’s Office via Twitter (NYSE:).

Laguna Woods in Southern California is home to approximately 16,000 people.

The Orange County Fire Authority stated that firefighters and rescue workers were present at the scene and transported multiple patients to the hospital.
