The NSE closed with an additional 0.38% and the index rose 0.34%.
These were the best performers of the session Eicher Motors Ltd., which gained 7.62% (or 185.30) to close at 2,617.95 Meanwhile, Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd. (NS) increased 3.92%, or 138.95 point to reach 3,686.75 NTPC In late trade, Ltd (NSS:) rose 2.81% to 148.20 or 4.05 point.
They were also the worst performers of the session. UltraTech Cement Ltd (NS): fell by 2.97%, or 183.75 point to close at 6,012.80. Shree Cements Ltd. (NS) fell 2.59%, or 584.50 point to finish at 21,980.85 Asian Paints Ltd. (NS) fell 2.09%, or 64.10 point to 2,999.90.
The BSE Sensex 30’s top performers were NTPC Ltd. (BO) who rose 3.05% and settled at 148.45; Bajaj Finance Ltd. (BO) which was up 2.37%, to settle at 5,646.05, and State Bank Of India. (BO) closed at 455.15.
UltraTech Cement Ltd.(BO:), which fell 3.01% at 6,013.05 in the late trade, Asian Paints Ltd.. (BO 🙂 lost 2.15% at 2,999.45, and ITC Ltd. (BO :), which dropped 1.78% to 25,4.05 at closing.
On the India National Stock Exchange, rising stocks outnumbered those in decline by 1257, 589, and 27 were unchanged. The Bombay Stock Exchange saw 2155 rise and 1130 fall, and 177 was unchanged.
The implied volatility index of Nifty 50 options was at a 1-month peak with 4.44% increase to 24.53.
The June delivery of Gold Futures was lower by 0.36%, or 6.50, to $1.801.70 per troy ounce. Other commodities traded included Crude oil, which fell 0.63 or 0.58%, to reach $108.00/barrel, and the July Brent Oil contract, which fell 0.78 or 0.77 to trade at $110.77/barrel.
USD/INR rose by 0.42%, to 77.81. EUR/INR increased by 0.56%, to 81.11.
US Dollar Index Futures were 0.12% lower at 104.50
