UberThe company announced Monday its most recent updates ahead of the busy season for events and travel.
The following features were revealed during the launch Go/Get virtual event, include:
- This new feature allows you to book a bus, or passenger van.
- You can book rides from one location to the next with a trip itinerary.
- Order by voice
- Drivers can use an electric vehicle hub.
Uber is working to become a super app in order diversify its offering, and potentially increase long-term profitability. The company plans to add trains, buses and planes to its U.K. App this summer.
These are some of the most important offerings.
Uber allows users to reserve Uber rides for every part of their trip in one app hub. Connecting your Gmail account first to Uber will allow you to reserve rides for each part of your itinerary in one hub. Uber will then take reservation details and organise flight, hotel, and restaurant reservations into one spot. This is what Uber calls an “easy-to-use travel experience.” Uber Travel customers will receive 10% in Uber Cash for every reserved ride they book. This feature will be available in Canada and the U.S. starting Monday.
Uber will expand its ride-hailing abilities through a partnership agreement with U.S. Coachways. Uber will allow users to book large vehicles such as a coach bus, party bus or passenger van directly through the app. The pricing is also upfront. It will go live in all 50 states this summer.
Uber Eats Stadiums
Uber Eats, Postmates and Uber Eats will be available in certain stadiums throughout the U.S.A. and France. Uber will allow users to order from the concessions of their stadium and then skip the lines to collect their order once it is ready. Uber Eats At Stadiums can be found in California at Dodger Stadium, Angel Stadium, New York Yankee Stadium, Washington, D.C., at Capital One Arena, Houston at Minute Maid Park, San Jose, California, PayPal Park, Rennes, France at Roazhon Park.
A new integration allows users to order Uber Eats from their Google Assistant. A customer simply needs to ask “OK Google”, and order a Uber Eats meal. Uber is adding more languages to the feature as it rolls out in English.
EV Hub & Charging Map
Uber made the global commitment to becoming a zero emission mobility platform in 2040. However, it needs to attract drivers. The company also announced an app system that will allow drivers to search for information about electric vehicles. The EV hub is described as “a one stop shop for drivers looking to get more information about electric vehicles and compare their costs with non-EVs.” Uber has also added a charging map in its Uber Driver app. It shows the location of the nearest EV charging stations, charging speed and directions.
Uber Comfort Electric
Uber has launched comfort electric. This allows passengers to travel in an EV such as a Tesla, Polestar, or other premium models. This feature will be available in Los Angeles and San Francisco as well as San Diego, San Diego, Dubai and San Diego on Tuesday. It is likely to soon expand to other countries.
Vouchers can be used to pay the ride costs for guests attending an event. The event host enters the details and their maximum budget, then shares the code generated with the guests. The pickup and drop off times for guests can be set by them.
