Elon Musk calls on SEC to evaluate Twitter user numbers

In the middle of his purchase deal TwitterElon Musk has asked the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for an investigation into the user counts of the social network.

Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, wrote in an informal Twitter poll on Tuesday, “Twitter claims that >95% of daily active users are real, unique humans. Is anyone else able to relate? In response to the follower’s suggestion that an investigation be initiated by the SEC, he replied, “Hello!” @SECGovAnyone home?

Since years, Twitter has had murky metrics that the SEC is aware of.

Musk bought Twitter for $44 Billion last month, but he has now said that the deal was on hold while he investigates bots, spam, and fakes. Twitter said that they still believe the transaction will proceed at the price agreed to, $54.20 per unit.
