G7 to discuss crypto-asset regulation, says French central banker -Breaking

REUTERS/Dado RuvicPARIS (Reuters) – The topic of regulation of cryptoassets will be addressed at a Group of Seven Finance Chiefs meeting this week in Germany. Francois Villeroy De Galhau, head of the French central bank said Tuesday.
Villeroy stated that the “recent past” is an alarming sign of the need to regulate global markets, speaking at a Paris emerging markets conference. Villeroy was referring specifically to recent volatility in crypto-asset market.
“Europe has paved the path with MICA (regulatory frame for crypto-assets), and we will likely… discuss this issue among many other issues at the G7 Meeting in Germany this week,” said he.
