WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – A U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission official stated Tuesday that there are still “significant issues” to reach a deal in China regarding a long-running dispute over auditing compliance for Wall Street-listed companies based in Beijing.

YJ Fischer (SEC’s International Affairs Chief), told an audience that U.S. Public Company Accounting Oversight Board would have to finish China audit inspections before Nov. 22, in order to meet a Chinese company delisting deadline of 2023.

Fischer stated that the Chinese authorities ought to consider delisting from U.S. Exchanges any “subset” of issuers it finds “too sensitive” or incompatible with U.S. regulations.
