NEW YORK, (Reuters) – Amazon.com Inc. (NASDAQ:), shareholders voted against 15 shareholder-led resolutions challenging the company’s policies – including the use of plastics – during Wednesday’s company annual meeting.

Voting was done by investors for the approval of proposals regarding executive compensation, board membership and stock splitting.

Amazon advised investors to vote against the increase in resolutions. This is because tech companies shareholders are pushing for greater transparency regarding social issues like pay equity, safety and workplace culture, as well as sustainability practices.
