(Reuters) – A former U.S. Representative Beto Obrke interrupted a Texas official’s news conference following Wednesday’s latest massacre in Texas and shouted “You are not doing anything!”
After Abbott had finished giving information on mental health resources for those who were affected by Tuesday’s shooting in Uvalde (Texas), that resulted in the deaths of 19 children and 2 teachers, O’Rourke began shouting at the assembled officials.
O’Rourke was shouted down by the crowd, and security personnel moved to remove him from the conference room. O’Rourke broke into the news conference with allegations that elected officials had done nothing to end gun violence.
O’Rourke replied, “You are a sick child of a bitch that would make a deal such as this to make political issues.”
O’Rourke stated that he owed the parents action when addressing reporters at the press conference. They expect us to act now. We should do something now. It is possible to do something now. Accepting this is unacceptable.
