Twitter settles with U.S. government over privacy, security violations

WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – Twitter (NYSE:), has reached an agreement with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission (USFCC) over claims that it misrepresented user data security and privacy between September 2013 and May 2013. According to court papers filed Wednesday.
The documents reveal that Twitter will be paying $150 million to settle the case.
