The six members of the gang, which included six others, were convicted of assaulting and robbing an advisor to crypto investments in Dubai. They received a six month sentence. Dubai police said that a husband and wife were attacked in their house. The couple also had $200,000 in cash, three phones, three watches and a diamond engagement worth Dh390,000 stolen.

One of Europe’s top cryptocurrency advisers, the victim had given his opinion to the defendants on crypto investments. The victim advised the defendants to invest $30 million in a well-known coin. Overnight, the amount tripled and the group made an enormous profit. The accused however lost a lot of their funds during the crypto crisis.

The gang reached out to the advisor asking for help after the crushing loss of bone.
