Hungary slaps $2.19 billion in new windfall taxes on banks, companies -Breaking

BUDAPEST (Reuters – Hungary will receive a total amount of 800 billion Forints ($2.19Billion) per year from windfall taxes imposed upon banks, energy firms and insurers.
Nagy stated that the bank sector would have to contribute 300 Billion Forints annually on top of all existing taxes. While MOL-based energy companies will need to pay 300 Billion forints to shoulder the bulk of the cost.
