- More than $1.6 billion was reported in cryptocurrency-related fraud according to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center.
Twitter users were tricked by cybercriminals pretending they were crypto journalists. They also used crypto apps to post suspicious links and NFT project information. Crypto scammers then, would be able to identify and compromise victims’ sensitive data including their login credentials and virtual currencies.
