Transport Canada probing cause of Tesla fire in Vancouver -Breaking

REUTERS/Shannon Stapleton/Files(Reuters] – A Canadian safety agency stated on Friday that they are investigating the circumstances surrounding a Tesla (NASDAQ) fire in Vancouver. This happened after the driver attempted to escape the vehicle.
Transport Canada stated that its contract collision and defect investigation team had “located and secured the Tesla Model Y” following a fire at Vancouver’s Model Y on May 20, 2021.
According to the agency, it had “noticed Tesla about the incident” and was making arrangements for an inspection together of Tesla’s vehicle in order to find the source of the fire.
On Thursday, the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration informed Reuters that it was aware of the incident. It also indicated that they had reached out to manufacturer for more information.
The incident was documented by Electrek. It shows the owner saying that he got an error message and seeing smoke. According to the driver, he had to break down the window to escape. … Everything stopped when I kicked through it. It didn’t turn on. The door didn’t open. The windows did not go down.”
Tesla didn’t respond to our request for comment.
