Tesla (NASDAQ) reported that its Shanghai factory has resumed production after it was forced to close for 22 days because of ongoing Chinese lockdowns. A Reuters report claims that the electric carmaker has added a second shift during the week. It is also expected to boost output this week. According to the report, two sources are familiar with the subject.

The China Passenger Car Association released data showing that the Tesla gigafactory had reopened on April 19. It produced 10,757 cars by April 19 and sold 1,512. It was the fourth lowest total sales figure since April 2020. This is four months after China began shipping Chinese-made vehicles.

Shanghai’s authorities are going to cancel conditions that businesses must follow in order to resume their work on Wednesday. The announcement was made by a Shanghai official Sunday as they look to ease the lockdown across Shanghai.
