(Reuters) – Capri Holdings Ltd, Michael Kors’ owner (NYSE:) Ltd increased its full-year profit outlook on Wednesday. This signaled strong demand for luxury goods in a time when higher-income customers return to old shopping habits.
Premarket trading saw shares of Versace and Jimmy Choo rise by about 6% each to $51.51
However, the 40-year-old-high rate of inflation has not had any effect on wealthy shoppers in particular in America and Europe. This allows luxury goods manufacturers to continue raising prices when others, such as retailers, are already doing so. Target Corp (NYSE 🙂 and Walmart, (NYSE 🙂 Inc are both discounting their products.
Comparing with its earlier estimate of $6.60, the company expects fiscal 2023 profits of approximately $6.85 per share.
According to IBES data from Refinitiv, the company’s fourth-quarter revenue rose by 24.6% to $1.49 Billion. This beat analysts’ average estimate at $1.41 Billion.
