U.S. FTC launches inquiry into drug middlemen -Breaking

(Reuters) – The Federal Trade Commission announced Tuesday that it will open an inquiry into prescription drug middlemen industry. They sent mandatory orders to six pharmacy benefit managers asking for information about business practices.

In the course of an inquiry, the antitrust regulator will give orders to CVS Health Corp. Humana Inc (NYSE:), Cigna Corp (NYSE)’s Express Scripts, (NASDAQ:), and UnitedHealth Group’s OptumRx (NYSE:), among other.
