Investing.com – Australia stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

The additional 0.36% was added at Sydney’s close.

Atlas Arteria (ASX) was the best performer of the session, rising 16.20% to 1.15 points and trading at 8.25 by the close. Boral Ltd. (ASX) gained 14.69%, or 0.42 points, to trade at 3.28. Woodside Energy Ltd. (ASX) was up 5.62% (or 1.85 points) to 34.74 late trade.

Bendigo And Adelaide Bank Ltd. (ASX) were the worst-performing session. They fell 7.9%, or 0.76 points, to close at 9.81. Perenti Global Ltd. (ASX) lost 6.54%, or 0.05 points, to close at 0.71. Westpac Banking Corp. (ASX) fell 6.11% or 1.43 to 21.98.

On the Sydney Stock Exchange, falling stocks outnumbered those in progress by 769, 660 and 402 respectively.

Atlas Arteria’s shares rose to 52 week highs. The ASX: gained 16.20% (or 1.15 to 8.25). Woodside Energy Ltd. shares (ASX:), rose to 52 week highs, rising by 5.62% (1.85 to 34.74).

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 2.99% to 15.60.

The August Gold Futures were up 0.2%, or 0.45, to $1852.55 per troy ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil rose 0.92 percent to $120.33 per barrel in July. The August Brent oil contract advanced 0.71 percent to $121.28 per barrel.

While AUD/USD was steady at 0.728%, AUD/JPY was up 0.37% from 96.18.

At 102.58, the US Dollar Index Futures rose 0.25%.
