BioNTech to soon start mRNA vaccine factory construction in Rwanda -Breaking

FRANKFURT, (Reuters) – COVID-19 vaccine manufacturer BioNTech stated that construction of an mRNA vaccination factory in Africa will begin on June 23, according to Rwandan officials.

Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame will attend the groundbreaking ceremony, which is taking place in Kigali. Other heads of state, as well as representatives of the African Union and the European Union as well as the World Health Organization are also expected to participate, according to a biotech company.

It added that the modular factory components of the German firm, which will be built in Africa by so-called BioNTainers would be delivered to construction sites by 2022.
