Ukrainian Presidential Press Service/Handout via REULONDON (Reuters – Boris Johnson, Prime Minister of Russia warned Britain Thursday that Russia has not provided a quick solution for the chaos caused by its invasion of Ukraine. But that it would be possible to mitigate the negative economic effects.
Johnson made a speech in Blackpool, stating that it wasn’t the right moment to cease supporting Ukraine. Even though gas, oil, and grain prices had increased, Johnson stated that the West couldn’t force Kyiv accept the peace terms of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“And I’m aware there are people who believe, and not just in this country, but anywhere else, that the cost of supporting the Ukrainians now is too high, and should therefore be encouraged by Putin to take whatever terms he may request. He said that he did not think such an option was available to them.
“Over the long-term, I feel the economic implications of the war on Ukraine will diminish.”
