REUTERS/Eric GaillardLONDON, (Reuters) –Martin Sorrell stated that his S4 Capital will strengthen its financial controls after he released delayed results for the full year. These showed a 44% increase in gross profit for digital advertising groups.
The 4-year-old Sorrell company ran into its first hurdle late March. It was forced to postpone its results due to a lack of agreement from the auditor. This wiped out more than 40% of its share price that day.
The results were published by the company on Friday. They showed sales and profits in line to guidance, and an overall outlook of 25 percent growth for 2022.
Sorrell said to Reuters that his company made changes to its workforce after discovering control problems and a shortage of detailed documentation in the content division. These issues were related, Sorrell explained, to Reuters.
According to him, the group will also hold a briefing with PwC and its auditors.
Sorrell stated that the group expects a strong year in 2022 despite the worsening economic outlook. This is because digital sales are continuing to rise strongly, and digital transformation will be a key factor for companies to increase efficiency.
Company’s organic gross profit for 2021 rose 44%. The company also stated that 2022 has performed better than the full-year guidance, which was 25%.
After leaving WPP (LON) as the global market leader, S4 Capital was founded by Sorrell. He had previously run WPP for over 30 years.
As it bought businesses that combine consumer data and digital content, it grew quickly. This enabled it to collaborate with companies like Meta’s Facebook (NASDAQ;), Alphabet(NASDAQ:) Inc’s Google, BurberryGroup (OTC:) Plc, and Netflix Inc (NASDAQ.
