On May 3, Spotify announced through a blogpost its entry to the metaverse in collaboration with Roblox named “Spotify Island.” The collaboration pulls together fans and artists globally to a shared virtual space to explore a “wonderland of sounds, quests, and exclusive merch.” In detail, Roblox users can mingle with artists, unlock exclusive content, and complete interactive quests.

Future theme islands will be added to the main Spotify Island. They will feature exclusive content and artist interactions as well as mini-quests.
K-Park will host the first themed island. It is expected to be available later in spring. It will pay tribute to K-Pop, and fans will have the opportunity to meet Korean musicians Stray Kids or SUNMI.

Spotify is the first music streaming company to partner with Roblox and will have an account on Roblox via Spotify Island. Spotify and Soundtrap will collaborate to offer immersive audio experiences. Additionally, users will be able to create music and explore sounds at Soundtrap’s virtual beat-maker stations.
Spotify Island is a platform that connects artists and fans. It also partners with musicians to make in-game virtual merchandise. Spotify says it will donate a part of its merchandise sales back to the artist.
About 2,000 metaverse-related patent and trademark applications have been filed at the US Patent and Trademark Office between January 2022 and now. This includes applications from Playboy, Dunkin and KFC as well as PizzaHut, PizzaHut (NYSE:), Ralph Lauren, Taco Bell, Taco Bell, Ralph Lauren, Hooters, PizzaHut.
