(Reuters) -Walmart Inc has recalled approximately 3,900 bottles aromatherapy sprays due to possible contamination by a deadly and rare bacteria. The recall was announced Friday by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention tested a Better Homes and Gardens-branded spray and identified Burkholderia pseudomallei as the cause of potentially fatal condition melioidosis.

While the agency couldn’t confirm where the infections originated, they said the spray had been found at the house of an individual who was previously suffering from melioidosis.

The CDC stated that it is rare for melioidosis to spread from person-to-person. It has been reported as many as 12 cases in the United States each year. This illness is more common in areas with tropical climates than it is elsewhere, such as Southeast Asia or northern Australia.

This agency works with the Texas, Minnesota, and Kansas state health departments to find out if these other patients have used similar products.

Walmart (NYSE:) sold the spray, made in India, at about 55 stores and on its website between February and October.

The retailer didn’t immediately reply to our request for comment.

The CDC suggested that customers wash their sheets with detergent, and then wipe them down with disinfectants.
