WASHINGTON, (Reuters) – President Joe Biden will be discussing energy prices and the Iranian nuclear programme during his visit to Europe to meet with G20 leaders this week, U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan stated on Tuesday.

Sullivan said that Biden would try to make progress in a global minimum income tax while he is there.

Biden will depart for Italy Thursday. On Friday, Biden is scheduled to visit Pope Francis in Rome. He will then begin meetings with representatives of major economies around the world. Biden will travel to Scotland to participate in the U.N. conference COP26 on climate change after the G20 meetings.

Sullivan claimed that America and Europe were unifying ahead of the summits. He also noted the absence of President Xi Jinping from China and Vladimir Putin from Russia.

Sullivan stated that the U.S. will and Europe would be present at the G20 as well as COP26. They’ll be energized, united, and driving the agenda.

Sullivan referred to Biden, saying that Sullivan would be “laser focused” on energy prices and supply chains.
