Cisco Systems Inc (NASDAQ) was the best performer of the session, rising 2.71% or 1.52 to close at 57.62. In the meantime, Amgen Inc (NASDAQ:), gained 2.17%, or 4.56 points, to close at 214.35. Dow Inc (NYSE;) was up 1.79 points or 1.03 to 58.47 late trade.

The top performers on the S&P 500 were Arista Networks (NYSE: ) rose 20.40% at 491.93, Wearing Under Armour Inc A (NYSE.) was up 16.36% and settled at 25.57. Under Armour Inc C, meanwhile, gained 13.90% to end at 21.68.

Ralph Lauren Corp Class B (NYSE:), which fell 9.74% to 111.71 in late trading, was the worst performer. Leggett & Platt Incorporated (NYSE :), which fell 9.48% to settle for 43.54 Global Payments Inc (NYSE:), which fell 9.24% to close at 132.35

Dec delivery gold futures fell 0.36% to $1789.25 an ounce. In commodities trading, crude oil fell 0.65%, or 0.55, to $83.50 per barrel. The January Brent oil contract dropped 0.24 percent, or 0.20, to $84.51 per barrel.

EUR/USD dropped 0.2% to 1.1581, USD/JPY declined 0.01%, to 113.96.
