German household spending drives weaker-than-expected Q3 growth -Breaking

BERLIN, (Reuters) – The sole reason for a slower-than-expected third-quarter economic expansion was German household consumption, which more than offset a decline in investments by companies and increased state consumption in the summer months.

According to the Federal Statistics Office, Europe’s biggest economy saw a 1.7% increase in gross domestic product quarter-on-quarter. This was in adjusted terms between July and September. This was below the flash estimate of 1.8% that was published last month.
