Dubai’s Emirates suspends flights to several U.S. destinations on 5G concerns -Breaking

CAIRO (Reuters – Dubai Emirates Airlines announced Tuesday it would suspend its flights to the United States starting Jan. 19, until further notice due to concerns about 5G mobile deployment.

It said that the move was due to operational issues associated with the deployment of 5G wireless network services in the United States. The company stated that the destination list includes Boston, Chicago and Dallas Fort Worth as well as Houston, Miami (Newark), Orlando, San Francisco, Seattle, Miami, Houston, Miami, Newark and San Francisco.

The company stated that Emirates will still operate its flights to New York City’s JFK and Los Angeles International Airports, as well as Washington DC’s Dulles International Airport, according to the latest information.

According to the carrier, “We work closely with manufacturers of aircraft and other relevant authorities in order to reduce operational concerns and hope to resume US services as soon possible.”

On Tuesday, the White House stated that 5G deployment should be managed in a way that minimizes disruption to flight travel and protects safety.
