U.S. basketball player detained by Russia is in good condition

A U.S. Embassy representative in Moscow found Brittney Griner, an American basketball player, in good health and allowed her access on Wednesday. Ned Price, a spokesperson for the State Department said that.

Russian Customs Service reported this month that a Russian player had been detained after landing at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport on a New York-bound flight.

The customs agency said that cartridges with liquid with hashish oils were found in the luggage of the player. A criminal case was opened, which could lead to a sentence of between five and 10 years imprisonment.
